Kajol born in a filming family as her Mother was an Actress and her father was a film Director and Producer. Kajol started her industrial life at the age of sixteen, she began work on Rahul Rawails film Bekhudi, it is realesed in 1992. After than she acted in Baazigar (1993), it was a major commercial success.
In 1995, Kajol starred in two major commercial successes, Rakesh Roshans Karan Arjun and Aditya Chopras Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, both opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The biggest Bollywood hits like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). Her performances in both the films were praised and earned her two Filmfare Best Actress Awards.
During her film career, she has been part of many critically and commercially successful films, and is regarded as one of Indias most successful actresses. Kajol was one of the four Bollywood actors, alongside Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan and Shahrukh Khan.
In 2012, Kajol was appointed as the brand ambassador of Pratham, a charity organisation for children. In April, she featured in a short film about education and literacy, with the children of Hanuman Basti Primary School in Mumbai, for the organisation.
