His parents both came from Hindi Filmy Industry. He is grandson of actor-director Raj. The actresses Karisma and Kareena are his first cousins. He has one sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahani. Ranbir was educated at the Bombay Scottish School in Mahim.

Ranbir Kapoor has a passion in acting from the childhood. that is the cause he went to New York for getting training for acting in The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Ranbir has started his career as an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the movie Black in 2005. His first acing debut is in 2007, movie is Saawariya, alongside Sonam Kapoor and Rani Mukerji. Saawariya was the first Indian film to be produced by a Hollywood studio (Sony Pictures Entertainment). This film got Film Fare best debut actor Award.

Film Career

Kapoor second movie released on 2008, Bachna Ae Haseeno was a commercial success at box office. In 2009, Kapoor had three film releases Luck by Chance, Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Kapoor starred opposite Katrina Kaif in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film stud up as fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2009. Raajneeti, directed by Prakash Jha was a blockbuster at box-office in the year 2010. The film was appreciated by the audiences because of political drama.

Ranbir kapoor is now a famous stardom in Bollywood. Again he gives a Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, which is running successfully in theaters. Experts predicted that Ranbirs Latest film Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani is going to hit a block buster. It collects totals to Rs. 100 crores within the first week of its opening.
