Deepika started her career in 2004, as a model under the tutelage of Prasad Bidapa. In early days of her career, she acted in commercial add liril soap. Deepika first debuted movie is Aishwarya, a Kannada film directed by Indrajit Lankesh. Padukune first bollywood movie Om Shanthi om opposite sharukh Khan. Om Shanti Om was a commercial success, and emerged as the highest grossing film of the year.
Film Career
Deepika appeared opposite Saif Ali Khan in the romantic drama Love Aaj Kal from the writer-director Imtiaz Ali. Padukone had five film releases in 2010. Her first role was in Vijay Lalwanis psychological thriller Karthik Calling Karthik. Deepika acted with most popular bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal, Jiah Khan and Boman Irani. Chennai Express was Padukone second commericial success release to earn over 3 billion in worldwide ticket sales; both Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express rank among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time. Chennai Express was Padukones second consecutive release to earn over ₹3 billion (US$48 million) in worldwide ticket sales; both Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express rank among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time.
In 2012 Deepika acted with South india super star Rajinikanth in Kochadaiiyaan. In 2014 she acted in Happy New Year. In 2015 she acted in Tamasha opposite ranbir kapoor.
