Rani Mukerji is an Indian actress. She was born on March 21, 1978 at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her father Ram Mukherjee, is a former film director. Her mother Krishna Mukherjee, is a former playback singer. Her elder brother Raja Mukherjee is a film producer and director. Rani completed schooling in Maneckjee Cooper High School, Juhu, Mumbai. She completes higher education at Mithibai College, Mumbai. She married Adithya Chopra, film maker On 21 April 2014 at a private ceremony in Italy.

Acting Entry

Rani started her acting career in 1996 with a supporting role in Bengali movie Biyer Phool. In 1997 Rani Mukarji debut movie is Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat. the film was a commercial failure.

Film Career

In 1998 Mukerji starred opposite Aamir Khan in Vikram Bhatts Ghulam, its a moderate commercial success. Later she acted in big-budget directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. After that Mukerji played leading roles in the social drama Mehndi and the comedy Hello Brother. Rani achieved success with Veer-Zaara alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta.

Mukerji received a second Best Actress nomination at Filmfare for her work opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Bunty Aur Babli. She acted in a supporting role in Kamal Hassans bilingual film Hey Ram. She acted in many successful movies like Ghulam, Hey Ram, Bichhoo, Nayak , Saathiya, Yuva, Hum Tum, No One Killed Jessica, Veer Zaara, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Kuch Kuch Hata hai , Black, Bunty aur Bubly, Paheli , etc. She won a total of 6 Filmfare Awards.
