Acting Entry

In 1984 she got Miss India, then she turned into acting. Her debut movie is Sultanat in 1986, it was commercial failure. Thense went to act in Kannada classic film Premaloka directed by Ravichandran in 1987, the film became a Blockbuster. Her first major role in Bollywood was in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988, in which she starred with Aamir Khan.

Film Career

In 1990 Chawla starred in film as Pratibandh, which was a box office success. The movie Aaina, co-starring Jackie Shroff and produced by Yash Chopra, the film was a big hit at the box office. The Yash Chopras thriller Film Darr alongside Shahrukh Khan and Sunny Deol. The film become a blockbuster and highest grossing films.. Darr was also a major critical success, winning several awards including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

Juhi appeared Ravi Chopras Bhoothnath with Amitabh Bachchan, in which she made her singing debut with the song "Chalo Jaane Do". She won the prestigious Best Actress award at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards ceremony for her performance. It earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. She appeared with Helen Mirren and Om Puri in the Steven Spielberg-produced Hollywood film The Hundred Foot Journey.
